Two new patterns!

THIS year I'm not going to be so busy with weddings, and my goal is to make at least 10 new patterns! On my way, with two new patterns this last week. Here they are:

Cinnamon Bunny

Cinnamon Bunny is all ready for spring!  You can check the pattern out on my website, or on Etsy, and also on Pattern Mart, below:

Speaking of spring, it kinda looked like spring here today! It was in the 50's and my crocuses are blooming, and the daffodils are coming up! It's still just the middle of winter though, so I haven't packed up my snowmen and winter decorations.  That would just be asking for it!

Sadie Sue

My other new pattern is Sadie Sue.  She was fun little girl to make!  This little ragamuffin with the wild hair is just 9" tall, so she doesn't take much fabric to stitch her up! She's on my website, Pattern Mart, and here on Etsy too.

I've been having a great time with my other Etsy site; Lottie Elizabeth that I started last summer with my daughter Emily.  If you haven't checked it out, take a peek here!  It's fun working on things that aren't primitive.  Here are some cute Valentine's Day/Heart things that I created:

New Patterns and Online Christmas Bazaar!

Finally some new patterns from Prindle Mountain!  I don't know where this year went, but when I wasn't working on weddings, I was spending time with my twins at their college town, working on my additional Etsy site Lottie Elizabeth (see it here), or farmwork and enjoying our new horses!  Fall meant a flurry of activity getting ready for my Christmas shows which are now in full swing. 

I designed a couple of new patterns, which are now on Etsy, my website, and PatternMart.  Loved working on the little Tomte Santa.  As I am Swedish and Danish and my husband is Norwegian, we love our Scandinavian heritage.

My Christmas Pony pattern was inspired by our new horses, Sammy and Otis!  These two sweet boys joined our farm this summer and fall.

It's almost show time!

I have been very, very busy the past 6 weeks sewing away in my craft room getting ready for my shows! The first one starts in just 3 days!  Eek!  How could it be holiday season already!?!?

Curly Top

Here's my newest pattern: Lollipop!  She was designed in honor of Shirley Temple.  We have a fondness for Shirley Temple.  She was such an adorable and talented little girl, and grew up to be a gracious, beautiful, compassionate woman.  The world lost a treasure when she passed recently.  I was going to give her blond hair like Shirley Temple has, but she just looked better with her standard Raggedy Ann red hair!

This wasn't my first experience with sewing a Shirley Temple dress. When our daughter Emily was a junior in high school, she had to do a famous person report and she chose Shirley Temple.  Here's a photo of Emily in her outfit!

I also just finished a pattern of Plain Jane.  These were my sixth and seventh new patterns of the year.  I'm on a roll!

Today was a sad day at our house!  Our sweet Ella Jean was very ill and we had to let her go. She was my daughter's cat; and she's had her for 10 years since she was just nine years old. She happens to be home from college for Spring Break, so she was here with Ella when we had to take her in for her last vet appointment.  It was sudden, totally unexpected, and broke our hearts!  Rest in peace, Sweet Ella Jean! :(  If you have a cat or a dog, go hug them!  They just aren't here with us nearly long enough!

Fresh from the sewing machine!

Just finished this little gal today!  I've never made a blonde raggedy before, but I had an order recently for my Kaitlyn Ann doll in blonde, so I thought I'd try a blonde doll.  Alice Ann is the result!  She is 11" tall, and was actually a lot of fun to make!  I just put the pattern on my Etsy, PatternMart, and my website.

I actually have a little niece that is 21 months old whose name is Alice.  I'm thinking this may be her second birthday present!  She has two middle names, but one of them is Ann.  My Grandmother's name was also Alice.  I've blogged about her before.  She's gone now, but she would've loved this little doll.  She loved dolls.  She was raised on the prairies of Montana and didn't have a lot of toys growing up, so she always loved dolls and stuffed animals.  I made her several dolls while she was alive.  I sure miss my Grandma!  I do have this picture of her with a doll.  It always makes me smile! :)

Bunnies and Bears Everywhere!

Spring fever must've hit me, because I've been busy sewing away on bunnies and bears!  My whole table was covered with them!  I just listed them on Etsy, and plan to work on patterns for three of them over the weekend.  Here they are:

Here are Benny Bear and Gracie.  These two were so much fun to sew!  I first discovered plush felt for my snowmen.  Who knew making these guys would be so much fun with this versatile fabric?!  These guys will be patterns.

This sweet girl is Betsy Bunny.  She's also made from plush felt, and I just love how her dress turned out!  The collar is made from the corner of a vintage cloth tea napkin.  I don't know if I will be able to part with Betsy!  She'll also be a new pattern.

Meet Barnaby!  Half the fun of creating these critters is coming up with names for them!  He just looked like a Barnaby to me!  He is also made from plush felt that has been aged and antiqued. He's the final pattern I plan to make this weekend.

Now, these are the kind of chocolate bunnies you can never have too many of!  Guaranteed to be calorie-free! :)  These little cuties are stitched from my Mister Bun E. Rabbit pattern that is now 10 years old!  I used a different fabric (the original, shown below, was stitched from terry cloth).  

....and last, I made a cream colored rabbit (white chocolate bunny?!) also using my Mr. Bun E. Rabbit pattern.  

Easter will be here before you know it!  I guess it's time to take my snowmen and winter stuff down!  It's March!

A little time away...

I forgot to put my newest pattern (finished New Year's Day!) on my blog!  It is a boy snowman that was a special-order to go with my Frosty Snowfriends.  So, I made him in to a pattern, and he is called Mr. Frost E. Snowfellow.

I just love snowmen...because you can decorate with them way after Christmas!  Heck, it's only been a few weeks since winter even started!  He is available as a paper pattern or an e-pattern.

I will be having surgery tomorrow, and out of commission for a couple of weeks.  During this time, please order my e-patterns from PatternMart  or my Etsy, where they will be automatically, electronically sent.   Paper patterns, supplies, or finished items will not be sent by mail January 13-January 27, and e-patterns will only be delivered electronically during this time via PatternMart or Etsy.  Thanks for your understanding!

Four new patterns!

I don't think I've ever made four new patterns at once, but they are just about ready to go on my website!  You can see them here first!  I had so much fun with these guys!  I love Christmas!!!!

This is Christmas Annie.  She measures 15" tall and is my newest Annie doll. Doesn't she just make you smile!?

My Frosty Snowfriends are 19" tall, and I've included directions for each of the 3 variations in my pattern.  These guys are really sparkly and were great sellers so far at my shows!

Santa's Laundry Line is super quick to make, and sold out quickly at my first show! I'll have this one left at my next show!

Sparkles the Snowman has a body made from a glass root beer bottle!  He's even cuter in person, and very sparkly!  He holds his own little light, and will premier at my next show.  I believe he'll be my last new pattern for 2013 - and he's number 10 for the year!

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas....

Ha!  Did you notice my sheep and crow (above) have Santa hats on?!  Time for a little holiday cheer! I've also added Burl Ives singing "Holly Jolly Christmas" to my side bar.  You'll have to click to hear it....many a time I've been browsing around on websites late at night, and startled myself nearly to death when I click on a website that has music playing!  Kind of annoying!

I added the Santa hats to my graphics on the website Pickmonkey.  I love this site and all the fun things you can do with photos!  Check it out!

I'm smack dab in the middle of bazaar season, and I've been putting in 12-14 hour days crafting! Got to take a break next week and put together 4 new patterns!  Watch for them soon! All Christmasy, and some great sellers at my bazaars so far!

New Patterns Coming Soon!

I've emerged from my craft room!  Since September 24th...the day after we took our twins to college (My babies!  That was sooooo hard!!!!), I've been working 10-12 hour days and sewing/crafting up a storm for my upcoming shows!  I've been too busy to stop and take pictures, but here are a couple of things I made this week that I will make into patterns in a week when my first show is over.

These snowgirls turned out so cute!  I was just going to put one on the pattern, but decided to have three of them, to show the variations that can be made with one pattern.  I made 9 of them.

Santa's Laundry Line

Something kind of fun and different, and very quick to stitch up!

My first show is the best show in Southwest Washington!  If you're in the area, it's worth a trip! Crafts Unlimited is in it's 38th year, and it's a juried show.  Very high-quality crafts, live harp music, and a free Artists Reception with refreshments.  See the blog here for more details, dates and times, and directions to the show.

Can't believe it's less than two months now until Christmas!  Back to work!

Some new patterns!

Graduation Time!

It's almost graduation time!  As a mother of five children, I've done this before.  It's always a sentimental time for me, as I love all the activities the kids have been involved in; particularly during high school, and it's the end that.  This will be a doozy (I wonder if that's really a word....spell check doesn't think so!), as this time it's our twins, and they are the "babies"!  We've had kids continuously at our high school since 2000, and before that my husband and I both graduated from there.  Small town, and everything happens at the high school.  What am I going to do now?!?

The big day is only a couple of weeks away!  Time sure flies!  They just started kindergarten a day or two ago...didn't they?!?

But they grew and grew and time marches on!  We took senior pictures last fall.  I've taken all the kid's senior pictures over the years, and just last week I finally get a new camera.  What was I thinking?

At any rate, lots going on in the next couple of weeks, but I squeezed in some time to work on some graduation dolls.

Not really primitive like my usual style, but I had fun making them, and I'll probably have them on display at their graduation party.  The pattern is available on my website and Etsy as well.  Etsy has a new feature and you can instantly download e-patterns.  Pretty handy!  See the pattern here.
